I’m halfway there!!!! 25lbs down, 25 to go!

havent logged on for a while. but im trying to distract myself from doing my uni work, so i thought i’d have a quick look at how everyones getting on. well done guys!! so im down another 4lbs since i last weighed in. thats puts me at my half way point…HOW EXCITING!! amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it.

 I’ve also joined a gym since I last came on here. Its amazing and I actually enjoy it. Although I’ve been ill all week so couldnt go. I’ll be back soon though. I had a Body Stats session with one of the trainers there. It measures everything- literally everything, just by standing on it like a set of scales and holding 2 rods in the air. very clever.

my results weren’t too bad. They were taken about a month ago. Here they are:

Body composition analysis

Protein: 9.3kg (normal is 8-9.8)

Mineral: 3.48kg (normal is 2.75-3.37)

Body fat mass: 26.5 (should be 11.7-18.7 for someone of my height…need to work on this one!)

Muscle-fat analyis

Weight: 73.5kg (needs to be 49.7-67.3)

Skeletal Muscle mass: 25.9kg (normal is 22.3-27.3 so Im doing pretty good here)

Body fat mass: 26.5kg (should be 11.7 to 18.7, need to get this down!!)

Obesity diagnosis

BMI 27 (should be 18-25…gotta work on this too)

Body fat %: 36% needs to be 18-28%

Waist to hip ratio: 0.81 (normal is 0.75- 0.85, so I’m on the high end of normal but still pretty good)

Overall I’m prettyy happy with the results. Imagine what they would have been before I lost the weight!! Shocking! but it only spurs me on to lose more weight and get fitter. They gave me a weight control taget of 61.1kg, which is 134lbs, my target was 133 so we’re pretty close.

I’m looking forward to being that weight and a nice size. I’ve started wearing shorter dresses on nights out and people are starting to notice the weight loss. I’ll try posting some pics later to see if you lot can tell the difference!! x

havent weighed in for a while, but worth the wait!

lost 6lbs since i last weighed in. that makes me 164.2lbs to be precise. which not only means i hit my 168 target, it means i’m 11st 10lbs. can’t remember the last time i was this weight. i remember being 11st when i was back in secondary school, yr 11 maybe? that would make me roughly 16, 4 years ago. last year i tried the cambridge diet, before i went on holiday. i got down to 12st 3lbs (171lbs) but couldnt handle not eating proper food. i’m so proud of myself, i have been eating normal food and i havent denied myself. when i eat now, i only eat half of whats on my plate (my mum makes big portions so i’m not starving myself…just eating significantly less food)

it is seriously working though and i love it. i’m hoping to be in the 150’s by next saturday which is when i move back to liverpool for uni. i havent seen my flatmate for 4 months. hopefully she will have noticed the difference. since i last saw her i have lost about 20lbs.

i even wore a size 12 dress for the first time in years the other night. i’m not sure what size that is in america (i think its a 8 or 10) it was a slinky blue number aswell, not something i usually wear. if i can get the pics from my friends i’ll post it as a profile pic. i never wear dresses but in the last month or so, i have bought 4 dresses. all above the knee! my confidence is going up and i am loving life!!

7.8lbs and it wasn’t even hard!!! :o)

omg i am soooooo happy! i’ve never been so excited after a weigh in before!! when i was losing weight at the beginning of the year i got down to 173lbs, that was in march. i am now 172.2lbs!!!

so if you don’t know already, i have been following paul mckenna’s i can make you thin book. it states you should:

 1. only eat when you are truly hungry…this is your body’s natural signal that it needs food (simple huh?)

2. eat whatever you want, be it pizza or salad 

3. eat until you are full, not necessarily when your plate is clean!

4. enjoy every mouthful

 this is the most amazing plan! i lost 7.8lbs in approx 10days. i was never hungry. in that time, i ate fish and chips (fries to you americans), but not a whole portion because i wasn’t hungry anymore! i have been working out every day since july 1st, for about 20 mins with turbojam, and i also did a couple days of davina mccalls dvd for 30 mins a time. they really work up a sweat and have you aching afterwards. considering that i have been on diets ever since i was 10 years old, i’ve never had these kind of results ever on a diet and exercise plan, (although paul mckenna says this is not a diet, its a way of life…diets just easier to say). i am so proud of myself, this is the kick i need to really get me going. i am actually writing this with a massive cheesy grin on my face!

an alternative blog…

so i watched michael jacksons memorial tonight. i was absolutely sobbing throughout, especially to brooke shields speech, jermaine jackson singing and of course by his daughters words at the end. i have to say i was also incredibly proud of shaheen, the 12 year old that sang there. he was on britain’s got talent, and i saw him live just over 2 weeks ogo on the BGT tour. he was absolutely fab tonight, it takes a lot of guts to perform infront of 17,500 people in that arena and potentially millions, maybe billions across the globe, baring in mind the biggest audience hes performed to before is probably 4,000. you did us brits proud!!

 its nice to blog something different for a change. this is a blog about life, courage, friends, family, support and legends. RIP Michael, you will be missed! long live your music!

all those squats are hurting today!

i’ve worked out every day since wednesday, which is probably more than i’ve done in the last 3-4 months! worked out twice yesterday. with davinas dvd, the pump section has lots of squats whilst doing weights for upper body. my butt is so stiff this morning, but i love that! i’m totally knackered and just want to sleep and its only 12:00 in afternoon here!!

day 3 of being back on the band wagon

well, since i decided to really get my big fat butt into gear, i am feeling a lot better about myself. i worked out wednesday, thursday and twice today. i know its only 30 minutes at a time, but you gotta start somewhere haven’t you? i loved my workout this morning with turbojam. this afternoons one with davina wasn’t bad, but its all weights and kicks…it kills your behind! even as i write this, about an hour after the workout and shower, i can feel my body recovering from its aches and pains!! i love this feeling!! muscles i never knew existed are finally getting a new lease of life and boy are they letting me know it!

turbo jam dvd arrived this morning…

…only ordered it on tuesday from amazon. i thought, i’ll try the learn and burn section today and see how i get on. WOW… i know its only 20mins and the first 5 is really slow so you can learn the moves, but i was sweating loads. think its a combination of the weather and me not exercising regualarly in a few months. but this is day 2 of me getting back on the bandwagon, exercising with davina dvd wednesday and turbo jam today.

the weather…omg, BEAUTIFUL! its a mini heatwave over here in uk. went into london on tuesday to madame tussauds. the fact that the waxworks are life size made me realise how big i am compared to real life celebs. i’m not saying i want to be as small as them, but i know i need to be smaller. went from madame tussauds to an afternoon of sunning myself in regents park, stunning views! had bbq’s every day this week…the dieters nightmare. i started off the week stuffing my face with all kinds of meat and salad. yesterday though, i controlled myself and had a salad, albeit with salad dressing, and a couple of sausages. and i was full…not feeling bloated, just right!

 so if anyone else is using turbojam, please get in touch so i can find out how everyone else is getting on :) x

stress= mouth ulcers= ouch!!

ok so i’m nearly done with my first year at uni! can’t believe how quick its gone. obviously at the end of each year comes those dreaded exams. i usually do fine in exams but i must be stressed out by them because i get severe mouth ulcers. and when i say severe i mean SEVERE! i have like 5 at the moment including a giant one by my lower lip. it literally kills me, i can barely sit here and type without pain, let alone eat, drink or write for 3 bloody hours in an exam!!

lets just hope that the pain will be worth it when i get my exam results and maybe a few lost pounds due to not being able to eat as much!!

im finally gonna go running tomorrow…ADVICE NEEDED!!

ok so i’m planning on getting my backside into gear and take this losing weight thing seriously! seeing as I have a couple of weeks off before I go back to uni, I thought I’d try running…only thing is- I HATE RUNNING! I’ve never been good at it, and if you’re not good at something you tend not to like it.

I have been exercising for a few months now so my fitness has improved but I think  running will make me feel better and help me lose weight faster.

Ok, so for the advice part…I need to know what to eat before running? and how long before I go do I need to eat?

How long should I run for? Do I just run…or do some for of interval training?

 Far too many options to choose from!!

Any advice is welcome, especially from runners on here! I’ll let you know how I get on tomorrow after I get in…that way I have to go :o)

i did it!!!! woop woop :o)

well i reached my first 10lbs weight loss. which also means i reached my mini goals of 175lbs…but i went even better and got to 173 :-O

im so chuffed with myself, especially as I was back home visiting family this weekend which is always my downfall. When I’m at uni, I can control my food because I’m the one that buys it. When I’m at home, my dad buys sweets, cakes etc which seem to find their way into my hand and into my mouth…not sure if that happens to anyone else?

so i went shopping with my mum and bought some chicken, salad and a bbq sauce….i love this kind of meal and wish i had it more when i’m at home. Its the easter break on friday so i’m moving back home for practically a month so i need to be able to eat well. still have had no chocolate or sweets (i gave them up for lent) which is good going for me.

 I have about 8 weeks until a friends wedding and I’d like to lose a stone by then. I’ve set a mini goal of 5lbs which hopefully shouldn’t take long…although it took forever for me to lose that 10lbs! BUT I STILL LOST IT!!

anyways, i have lots of work i should be getting on with thats all due this week, so i’ll have to love you and leave you all!
